Dominio del Aguila

Dominio del Aguila, born in 2010, is situated in the small village of La Aguilera in the renowned Ribera del Duero wine region of Spain. Founded by Jorge Monzón from a winemaking family and designer Isabel Rodero, the winery combines tradition with innovation to become the second estate in the region, after Dominio de Pingus, to receive a perfect score from the "Wine Advocate" Robert Parker.

Ribera del Duero is known for its high-quality red wines, including a nearly forgotten traditional style - clarete, a light red wine made from a blend of red and white grapes. Dominio del Aguila is a pioneer in reviving this unique traditional wine.

The vineyards form the cornerstone of the winery's quality, featuring precious 30 hectares of old vines, with most over a hundred years old, along with approximately 5 hectares of younger vines. Dominio del Aguila adheres to natural and traditional winemaking processes, selecting grapes with an average age of 50 years and some over 100 years old, fermenting with native yeasts in concrete tanks, and employing ancient and noble manual stomping methods without any chemical additives, ensuring the purity and naturalness of the wines. The winery has received local organic certification, highlighting its environmentally responsible approach.

Owner Jorge Monzón's extensive background and experience have undoubtedly laid a solid foundation for the winery's success. He has studied at the esteemed Domaine De La Romanée-Conti in France and the Vega Sicilia Group in Spain, known as the "kings of wine," and served as the technical director at Bodegas Arzuaga-Navarro. These experiences have provided him with unique insights and a deep pursuit of wine quality and flavor.
